WASHING – SPINNING – DYING

After cutting the alpaca wool, the next step is to wash the wool, then proceed with the spinning by hand using traditional tools we call in Quechua language PUSHKA.

After spinning, we with careful selection of natural dyes, all the dyes are collected from the area such as leaves, stems, flowers, seeds, roots, minerals such as pink salt, some stones, insects such as cochineal, etc.

Once the dyes are ready, we prepare the pots to boil until getting the expected color, then we boil the wool in the corresponding dye. Finally, we put the wool to dry carefully
